Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies actually used by this website, how to control them, and how your choices apply to analytics and advertising. Optional cookies do not load before you make a choice through our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
2. Consent Categories
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your cookie choice, platform security and session handling). These operate as legally permitted and cannot be switched off.
- Functional — support useful features such as keeping an anonymous session identifier so the site works correctly. Off until you allow them.
- Analytics — help us understand how public pages are used (e.g., Google Analytics). Off until you allow them.
- Advertising — support ads on public educational content (e.g., Google AdSense). Off until you allow them; never available on clinical, intake, booking, or patient pages.
3. What We Actually Set — Technology Inventory
This inventory reflects the technologies detected on this site. We do not list technologies we do not use.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| dod_cookie_consent | Diagnostic Orders Direct | Stores your cookie choices and the time you made them | Strictly necessary | Until you change it | First-party |
| dod_sid (session storage) | Diagnostic Orders Direct | Anonymous session identifier for first-party usage measurement | Functional | Browser session | First-party |
| Platform session/auth cookies | Base44 (site platform) | Site operation, security, and authenticated sessions | Strictly necessary | Session | First-party |
| _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) | Distinguish visitors and measure public-page usage | Analytics (consent-gated) | Up to 24 months | Third-party | |
| Google AdSense technologies (pagead2) | Contextual advertising on public educational content | Advertising (consent-gated) | Varies by Google policy | Third-party | |
| Trustpilot widget scripts | Trustpilot | Display the third-party Trustpilot review widget where embedded | Functional | Session/varies | Third-party |
Google Fonts are loaded for typography; the CSS files do not set advertising cookies. Our clinical scheduling and intake is conducted on IntakeQ's platform, which is subject to IntakeQ's own cookie practices once you leave our site to book.
4. Where Cookies Never Run
Analytics and advertising scripts are architecturally prohibited from loading on clinical, intake, booking, patient-specific, and authenticated pages — including the medical questionnaire and any page reached through patient-specific tokens. This is enforced in code, not just by policy.
5. Health Data and Advertising
Cookies are never used to build health-interest profiles, remarketing audiences, or personalized advertising based on medical content. Advertising on this site is contextual. Symptoms, medical history, requested tests, and other health information are never transmitted to advertising or analytics systems.
6. Your Choices
- Cookie Settings (footer, every page): accept all, reject non-essential, or manage each category individually — rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting
- Withdrawal: change your choice at any time; it takes effect immediately
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): we detect and honor your browser's GPC signal — advertising stays off
- Browser controls: you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly necessary technologies may limit some site functions if blocked
7. UK and EEA Visitors
If you are in the UK or EEA, non-essential cookies and similar technologies are not set before you give consent, and continued browsing alone is never treated as consent. See our UK Privacy Notice for PECR and UK GDPR information.
8. Changes to This Policy
When we add or remove technologies, we update this inventory. Any advertising technology added in the future is incorporated here and remains subject to the consent and clinical-route restrictions described above.
