Important Medical and Safety Information

Not for Emergency Care

Diagnostic Orders Direct is not an emergency service. If you experience sudden severe symptoms—chest pain, severe headache, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, severe trauma—call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

Clinical Appropriateness Assessment

Orders are issued only when a licensed medical provider determines that imaging or lab testing is medically appropriate based on your symptoms and medical history. Not every symptom requires imaging. Some symptoms may be better addressed through physical examination, observation, or alternative testing.

If a medical provider determines that your symptoms don't warrant imaging at this time, they will recommend alternatives or advise watchful waiting. You can always seek a second opinion from another provider.

What We're Not

  • • We are not an imaging center. We do not perform MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, or any imaging procedures.
  • • We are not a laboratory. We do not perform blood tests or other lab work.
  • • We do not interpret imaging results or provide radiologist reports.
  • • We do not provide emergency medical care or urgent evaluation.
  • • We do not diagnose medical conditions; medical providers assess clinical appropriateness of requested tests.

Your Privacy and HIPAA Protection

All medical information you provide is encrypted, stored securely, and protected under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Your information is never shared with third parties for marketing or other purposes. We take patient privacy and data security seriously.

Orders Are Not Guaranteed

Diagnostic orders are issued at the discretion of the licensed medical provider based on clinical judgment. Not all requests will result in an order. Additionally, even when an order is issued, imaging centers and labs reserve the right to accept or decline orders based on their facility policies.
